In those regenerated by the Lord

I heard the voice of Jesus say

God sent His mighty pow’r

Come, ye sinners, poor and wretched

Throughout the whole of Holy Writ

God has set the land before us

Christ is the testimony true

How true it is no heart may comprehend

I wandered years in sinful shame
