The Triune God, true mystery

The Triune God, true mystery—
The Father, Son, and Spirit—Three,
Yet one They are, and e’er shall be,
The Triune God, true mystery! (Myst’ry!)

In Genesis, the Bible shows,
When God made man, the Three-One spoke:
“In Our image and Our likeness
Let Us make man,”—to God express! (Fill us!)

Our God appeared in Exodus
As “I AM THAT I AM” to us,
The God of old, of Abraham,
Of Isaac, Jacob—the I AM! (God is!)

In Numbers, three-fold blessing see:
“Jehovah bless thee and keep thee;
Jehovah cause His face to shine,
And lift His countenance on thine!” (Amen!)

Jehovah, in Isaiah, said,
“Whom shall I send? Whom shall I send?
And, who will go, will go for Us?”
The Triune God now calls to us! (Send us!)

In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus said
“Disciple all, baptizing them
Into the Name of Father, Son,
And Spirit,” — in the Three-and-One! (Three-One!)

In Paul’s epistles, here we find:
The love of God, the grace of Christ,
The Spirit’s fellowship divine—
In spirit now this blessing’s mine! (Amen!)

We kneeling ask our Father, thus:
Oh, through Your Spirit strengthen us
With pow’r into our inner man,
So Christ can make His home within! (My heart!)

Now to the Triune God we sing:
“Who was and is, and is coming,
The seven Spirits by the throne,
The Witness True and Son Firstborn!” (Praise Him!)

The Triune God—the Trinity—
Himself dispenses into me,
Into my spirit, body, soul;
He’ll sanctify my being whole! (Dispense!)
