God’s whole relationship with mankind is
In spirit utterly;
God must as Spirit be touched in spirit
To experienced be.

The God who’s Spirit made man a spirit
To worship Him thereby,
Enabling man to gain God as life and
God to be man’s supply.

God comes as Spirit into man’s spirit,
Regenerating him;
In spirit man can enjoy God’s riches,
Fellowshipping with Him.

As Spirit, God waters, fills, refreshes,
Transforms me and renews,
From spirit to my whole being spreads, till
I am soaked through and through.

As Spirit, God joins and mingles with me,
Even transfigures me;
He adds His element constantly, till
Manifested in me.

As all God’s riches are in the Spirit
For our experience,
I must each moment breathe Him in spirit
To enjoy all He is.
