Every day I would walk to this same, same old well
Hoping all of my thirst it’d quell.
Yet each time I would still find
Myself sore, wanting but more—
This water did not satisfy.
Hoping all of my thirst it’d quell.
Yet each time I would still find
Myself sore, wanting but more—
This water did not satisfy.
Then I heard of a spring that would never run dry
(For contentment my heart did cry!):
“Whoso drinks shall by no means
Ever thirst; in him will burst
A fountain of life divine!”
I discovered that spring was the Lord Jesus Christ—
He died for me and He’s alive!
Of my sins I was forgiv’n,
But much more He had in store—
His very own life to give!
He died for me and He’s alive!
Of my sins I was forgiv’n,
But much more He had in store—
His very own life to give!
Where then does He give life? Well the Bible tells:
In my spirit where Jesus dwells!
Raised from death, He became breath,
Water too, even true food—
He’s processed to live in me!
If you haven’t yet found what your heart’s looking for,
Come and listen to His own word:
“Whoso drinks shall by no means
Ever thirst; in him will burst
A fountain of life divine!”
Come and listen to His own word:
“Whoso drinks shall by no means
Ever thirst; in him will burst
A fountain of life divine!”
Come, oh come see this man! Is He not the Christ?
He came that you would have His life!
Just believe, then you will see
He’s so real, living, and free—
A genuine prayer’s the way:
