How fragrant, sweet is Jesus’ name

How fragrant, sweet is Jesus’ name,
My heavy heart to cheer;
My heart rejoices, lips proclaim
Thy precious name so dear.

He who existed in God’s form
As Son of Man did come,
Was emptied, even took slave’s form,
That I God’s heir become.

Jesus is life, enlivening;
Light, truth, and way is He.
He’s in my heart, my Lord and King,
To guide and comfort me.

Jesus, more dear than treasures rare,
Each moment fills my heart,
Dissolves distress and anxious care,
Draws close to ne’er depart.

My Savior soon will come for me,
Take me with Him to be.
I’ll be transfigured gloriously
And rest eternally.
